This Privacy Policy describes how Noema LLC (“Noema,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our website at getnoema.ai, our Shopify application, our iOS and Android applications (collectively, the “Services”), or when you otherwise interact with us.
By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who we are
Noema LLC is a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of California, United States. For privacy questions, contact us at info@getnoema.ai.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, and authentication credentials when you create an account or request beta access.
- Communications: any information you provide when you contact support or respond to surveys.
- Billing information: when the Services move out of beta, payment information processed by our payment provider. Noema does not store full payment card numbers.
2.2 Information from your Shopify store
When you install the Noema Shopify application, you grant us read-only access to the following data through Shopify's authorized APIs:
- Store metadata (name, domain, currency, locale).
- Product catalog data (titles, descriptions, variants, images, tags, metafields).
- Public storefront HTML pages, for the purpose of rendering and scoring agent-readability.
We do not request or access customer personal data, order data, payment information, or fulfillment data. We do not write to your store.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, timestamps, referring URLs.
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, crash logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies: we use first-party cookies for authentication and a small number of privacy-respecting analytics events. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services.
- Generate AI-visibility scores, recommendations, and reports for your store.
- Authenticate you and secure your account.
- Communicate with you about the Services, security alerts, and product updates.
- Respond to support requests.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations.
- Improve and develop new features. When we use store data to improve our models, it is aggregated and de-identified unless you have given explicit consent otherwise.
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK users)
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (providing the Services), legitimate interests (improving and securing the Services), compliance with legal obligations, and consent where required.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers: cloud hosting, error monitoring, analytics, email delivery, and payment processing vendors, each bound by confidentiality and data-protection terms.
- AI model providers: when we run buyer-intent simulations, product titles and descriptions are submitted to third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google) under their respective enterprise terms. We do not submit personal customer data.
- Legal: where required by law, regulation, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Noema, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, in which case we will notify affected users.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. Aggregated, de-identified data may be retained indefinitely. You may request deletion at any time as described in Section 8.
7. Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including TLS in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, scoped credentials, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request portability of your information.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

9. California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. These include the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Noema does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To submit a verifiable request, email info@getnoema.ai.
10. Children's privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA / UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International transfers
We are based in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
12. Third-party links and integrations
The Services may link to third-party services (such as Shopify). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to review.
13. App store specific notices
Where you obtain the Noema mobile application through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the operator of that store is not a party to this policy. Their respective platform privacy practices and rights apply independently.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Services or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
